1) What is the Function of This Committee?
The EDPS Committee objective is to strengthen the well‑being, safety and resilience of our community by supporting effective emergency services and related agencies while fostering a thriving environment for local businesses. The Committee will advocate for coordinated and community-driven operations, promote transparent communication and advance policies that protect residents and empower entrepreneurs.
2) When and Where Does This Committee Meet?
The Committee regularly meets on the third Thursday of each month, beginning at 6:30 PM. Please consult the calendar and committee agenda for most up to date information.
3) What City or State Agencies Work With This Committee?
Knowing community safety and local business issues cover a lot of ground, EDPS will work with many agencies, primarily but not limited to:
- New York Police Department & District Precincts (NYPD)
- Fire Department of New York (FDNY)
- NYC Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Con Edison
- NYC Small Business Services (NYC SBS)
- Manhattan District Attorney’s Office
- NY State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM)
- The District’s Business Improvement Districts (BIDs)
