The Youth & Education Committee of Community Board 12-Manhattan is dedicated to supporting the educational needs and aspirations of the youth in Washington Heights and Inwood. This committee works collaboratively with local schools, youth-serving organizations, parents, and students to advocate for quality education, youth development programs, and opportunities that empower young people to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Committee meets monthly and regularly hears from key stakeholders and provides recommendations on youth-serving projects such as new schools or expansions, recreational spaces, and district-based initiatives.
