The Health & Environment Committee aims to improve the health and well-being of Washington Heights/Inwood residents by addressing and recommending health and environmental solutions to some of our district’s biggest issues. Washington Heights/Inwood continues to experience disproportionate rates across many chronic health conditions. This Committee serves as a focused space to improve public health by hosting presentations from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, NYC Health & Hospitals, and other key health and environmental agencies on the latest health initiatives, services, and issues affecting our area.
