The Land Use Committee plays a pivotal role shaping the urban landscape of Washington Heights and Inwood. This committee is responsible for reviewing and providing recommendations on zoning changes, land use applications, and development proposals within the district. It ensures that any new development or modification to existing structures aligns with the community’s needs and priorities, fostering sustainable growth and preserving the unique character of the neighborhoods.

The committee actively engages with residents, developers, and city agencies to balance development pressures with the preservation of historic sites, green spaces, and affordable housing.
