New MTA Customer Service Center at 168th Street Brings OMNY Support to Washington Heights

January 28, 2025

Washington Heights residents can now take advantage of expanded MTA services at the 168th Street subway station (A/C/1), where the first 400 customers who transfer their MetroCard balances to OMNY will receive a free OMNY card.

To confirm availability, please contact OMNY Customer Service at 877-789-6669 (daily, 6 AM–10 PM).

The offer is part of the MTA’s ongoing transition to OMNY tap-and-ride technology, which is replacing the MetroCard system. Customer Service Centers (CSCs) at select stations now provide services that were previously only available at the MTA’s Lower Manhattan headquarters at 3 Stone Street.

What’s the Offer?

The first 400 full-fare customers at each participating Customer Service Center who transfer their MetroCard funds will receive a fee-waived OMNY card. A station agent will load your remaining MetroCard balance onto the new OMNY card on the spot.
