Overview
NYC DOT presented detailed plans to redesign Lafayette Street/4th Avenue, Astor Place, East 8th Street and West 13th Street. The city presented to CB2 three times and provided the following information:
- March 24, 2026 Public Hearing, view March 24 DOT Slides

- May 11, 2026 Business Session, view May 11 DOT Slides in response to CB2 questions on Lafayette / 4th Avenue

In the DOT’s March 25, 2026 press release, the city highlighted that the upgrades will create a “two-way bike connection from the Brooklyn Bridge up to the Flatiron District.”
