NYU Task Force

Community Task Force On NYU Development

In 2006, Borough President Stringer joined with elected officials, community stakeholders, and New York University to create the Community Task Force on NYU Development to engage in conversation about NYU’s campus planning and ensure that all future development balances respect for the community with the University’s needs. From 2006 to 2010, the Task Force met to discuss priorities and guidelines for growth.

In July 2010, the Task Force decided to suspend conversation to allow the Community Board to begin their formal review process. This ensures that all those who will be affected by NYU’s proposals will have an opportunity to ask questions and express their opinions.
