Agenda:

  1. * Discussion of traffic calming improvements for:
    • Bethune Street (between Hudson and West Street).
    • 12th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues)
      [Postponed to a future meeting]
  2. *Tobi Bergman will present a potential use of Thompson Street from Grand Street to Canal Street to increase the open space and add it to the Grand Canal Court public park space[Postponed to a future meeting]
  3. *Discussion of the rising cost of Citi Bike – both regular (classic) and e-bikes – including options to make them more affordable for Citi Bike members including:
  4. Not before 7:15 pm: *Proposal by the Department of Transportation for a dedicated bus lane on Sixth Avenue from Watts Street through to West 59th Street, including the length of Sixth Avenue within Community District 2.  The proposal includes the widening of the northbound protected bike lane beginning at West 13th Street.

    • Proposed design (see slides, pages 14, 15 and 16)
    • Addition of bus boarding islands on Broome, Spring and Prince streets (see slides page 21)
    • MTAs proposed bus stop removals at 6th Ave/Broome St. and 6th Ave/12th St. (see slides page 24)
  5. *Presentation by the Department of Transportation concerning its letter announcing its intention to install new Citi Bike stations on:
    • Sixth Avenue between West 9th and West 10th Street (west side of the avenue); and
    • Clarkson Street between Hudson and Greenwich Streets (north side of the street).
  6. New Business.
