IDNYC
IDNYC is the new, free identification card for all New York City residents, which gives all of us the opportunity to show who we are—New Yorkers. As a government-issued photo identification card, IDNYC secures the peace of mind and access to City services that come from having recognized identification.
IDNYC cardholders can access services and programs offered by the City as well as by businesses. IDNYC helps enhance public safety, by serving as a recognized ID for interacting with NYPD. It also helps New Yorkers gain access to all City buildings that provide services to the public and is accepted as a form of identification for accessing numerous City programs and services.

City’s New Voting System
In compliance with federal and state law, New York City voters now vote using a paper ballot. They mark their choices on a paper ballot using a pen or ballot marking device, and insert their marked ballot into a scanner. The scanner then tabulates the votes after the polls close on Election Day. This poll site voting system provides a verifiable paper record and allows all voters, including voters with disabilities, to vote privately and independently at their poll site.

NYCScout
The Street Conditions Observation Unit (SCOUT) is a team of inspectors based in the Mayor’s Office of Operations. Their mission is to drive every City street once per month and report conditions that negatively impact quality of life to 311. SCOUT inspectors send reports of conditions they observe to the 311 system, and 311 assigns the conditions to the relevant agency for appropriate corrective action – the very same way that 311 handles complaints from the public.

Notify NYC is the City of New York’s official source for information about emergency events and important City services. Registration is free and simple. Follow the registration link and create your account. Notify NYC updates are available via email, SMS or phone for areas you select. You can get citywide messages via Twitter or RSS feed.
