Harlem Holiday Toy Drive

Dear Members of the Harlem Community,
This season, as we revel in the joy of giving thanks, let’s also take a moment to appreciate the blessings in our lives. Regardless of our individual circumstances, we are bound by a shared sense of community, resilience, and kindness that makes our Harlem Community special. The holiday season, with its excitement and joy, often brings anticipation of gift-giving. Yet, it’s crucial to remember that some in our community are facing challenges and hardships. As we exchange presents, let’s extend our generosity to those who may be less fortunate. Just as in Harlem, we are a family—a diverse and vibrant community that stands together in both celebration and support. This season, let’s come together to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors. We cordially invite you to join the Harlem Holiday Toy Drive, a collaborative initiative by Community Board 10’s Education, Youth and Libraries Committee, in conjunction with the United Federation of Teachers, Community Education Council for District 5, and the Harlem Renaissance Education Pipeline, in partnership with Harlem Community School District 5. Our mission is to bring together local businesses, religious institutions, and individuals willing to contribute new toys and gift cards for the children and youth in our community.
We are specifically looking for toys and gift cards that cater to different age groups:
● 3yo – 1st grade (ages 3-6)
● 2nd – 5th grade (ages 7-10)
● 6th – 8th grade (ages 11-13)
● 9th – 12th grade (ages 14-18)
For the older age groups, we encourage the donation of gift cards from fast-food restaurants, movie theaters, and clothing stores such as Old Navy, Uniqlo, and more.
Your generous donations can be delivered to:
The CEC 5 Office
123 Morningside Drive
Unit 2, Room 232
New York, New York 10027
No later than Wednesday, December 11th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. For more information, please feel free to contact CEC5, Administrative Assistant, Lisa Kinsey at 212-222 139S ext. 2321 or [email protected].
Your support will make a significant difference in brightening the holiday season for these children and teenagers in our community. Together, we can spread joy and create lasting memories. Harlem, let’s continue to be a shining example of unity, compassion, and community spirit. Together, we can make this holiday season brighter for everyone.
