{"id":30896,"date":"2026-07-28T18:18:40","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T22:18:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbmanhattan.cityofnewyork.us\/cb2\/?page_id=30896"},"modified":"2026-07-28T18:34:01","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T22:34:01","slug":"filing-a-complaint-about-cb2s-collection-or-disclosure-of-your-personally-identifying-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cbmanhattan.cityofnewyork.us\/cb2\/filing-a-complaint-about-cb2s-collection-or-disclosure-of-your-personally-identifying-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Filing a Complaint about CB2\u2019s Collection or Disclosure of your Personally Identifying Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><\/h5>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Protocol For Receiving and Investigating<br \/>\nComplaints under the Identifying Information Law<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>CB2M has created the email mailbox <a href=\"mailto:Privacycomplaint@manhattancb2.org\"><strong>Privacycomplaint@manhattancb2.org<\/strong><\/a>, which mailbox shall be used exclusively for the receipt of and response to complaints by any person under the Identifying Information Law (Administrative Code Sections 23-1201 through 23-1205) (referred to as the \u201cIIL\u201d) (referred to here as the \u201cComplaint Mailbox\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>CB2M has also created an online form (available <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScjF0oReQPLoeQ3UaxryYLJU48rtkReW55qI5e79jtCnlfTMw\/viewform?usp=header\">here<\/a>) which also shall be used exclusively for the receipt of and response to complaints by any person under the IIL (referred to here as the \u201cComplaint Form\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>CB2M designates the Agency Privacy Officer (\u201cAPO\u201d) as the point of contact for receiving and investigating complaints under the IIL.<\/li>\n<li>The APO or the APO\u2019s designee will monitor the Complaint Mailbox and the Folder for Complaint Forms at least once per day each day that the District Office is open.<\/li>\n<li>CB2M has created a link on the CB2M website home page that will connect to the Complaint Form, which form will contain substantially the same information as set forth below. The form will include a feature that provides instructions on how to submit the form to the APO using the Complaint Mailbox.<\/li>\n<li>The APO shall promptly:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Acknowledge to the complaining person receipt of each Complaint;<\/li>\n<li>Collect from the complaining person all information reasonably necessary for the APO to understand and investigate the Complaint, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>the complaining person\u2019s contact information,<\/li>\n<li>the date the complaining person became aware of the circumstances on which the Complaint is based,<\/li>\n<li>a description of those circumstances,<\/li>\n<li>and any supporting documentation the complaining person wishes to provide;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Notify the Manhattan Borough President\u2019s General Counsel of the receipt of each Complaint;<\/li>\n<li>Notify the Chief Privacy Officer of each Complaint within 24 hours of the discovery of each Complaint;<\/li>\n<li>Investigate the allegations of each Complaint, including working with the MBPO General Counsel and the other City Offices recommended by the MBPO General Counsel, including without limitation the Law Department, Cyber Command, the Office of Technology &amp; Innovation, the CB2M Staff, and other resources reasonably available to the APO, in connection with the investigation of such Complaint and, as appropriate, in formulating a response to the Complaint;
