The Traffic & Transportation Committee is committed to addressing the diverse mobility needs of Washington Heights and Inwood while promoting safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation options for residents and visitors alike. This committee works closely with city agencies, community stakeholders, and transportation advocates to address traffic congestion, improve pedestrian safety, enhance public transit services, and promote alternative modes of transportation.<\/p>\n

The Committee regularly engages the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The Committee holds public hearings on street redesigns, traffic calming measures, bike lane installations, street plazas, and other projects to gather input from residents and stakeholders on transportation issues and develop community-driven solutions.<\/p>\n
