The Parks & Cultural Affairs Committee of Community Board 12-Manhattan is dedicated to enhancing and preserving the rich cultural and recreational landscape of Washington Heights and Inwood. Washington Heights\/Inwood is made up of over 16% parks and open spaces.<\/p>\n

This committee focuses on the maintenance, improvement, and programming of the district\u2019s parks, recreational facilities, and cultural institutions, ensuring they serve the diverse needs of the community.<\/p>\n

The Committee regularly reviews and provides input on proposals for park and facility improvements, cultural projects, and installations from NYC Parks, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, neighborhood groups and institutions, residents, among others, to ensure the effective management and engagement of the district\u2019s public spaces.<\/p>\n
